JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

 

 

 


 

I. INTRODUCTION:

 

            Karnataka Police is happy to welcome you  to the 52nd  All India Police Duty Meet at Bangalore with regard to Scientific Aids to Investigation, Computer Awareness, Professional Photography, Videography, Anti-sabotage Check and Dog Squad competitions. The duty meet will be conducted in accordance with the rules prescribed by the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi-110 001.

 

II- DATE

 

The 52nd All India Police Duty Meet will be held from 3-1-2009  to 10-1-2009

 

III- ARRIVAL OF TEAMS

 

            Accommodation for the participants, accompanying officials, judges and senior officials will be made available from 1-1-2009 F.N. Teams therefore need not arrive before 1-1-2009 F.N. Team Managers are requested to report to the secretariat immediately on their arrival to Bangalore.

 

 

IV- PROGRAMME

 

            The detailed schedule of the competitions will be handed over to the Team Managers on their arrival. The tentative programme of the meet is as follows:-

VI – RECEPTION CENTRE

 

Reception/Assistance counters will be set up at 

Bangalore International Airport

Bangalore City Railway stations

Yeshwanthpur Railway station, Bangalore City

KSRTC Bus stand, Bangalore.                       

 

VII- ACCOMMODATION

 

            All participants and accompanying officials upto the rank of Addl. Supdts. of Police will be accommodated at new residential blocks of K.S.R.P Battalions at Koramangala. Accommodation for officers of and above the rank of Supdt. of Police, Judges and their Committee officials will be arranged in Guest houses/Hotels and other suitable places at Bangalore.

 

            The details regarding the number of officers and men of each participating team should be sent to the undersigned along with the entry forms latest by 1-12-08.

            The teams are requested to bring their own bed kits, rain coats, mosquito nets and suitable clothing including 2 sets of working uniform.

 

            Names of Senior Officers coming to Bangalore with mode of transport and exact time of arrival with probable  duration of stay should also be intimated in time so as to ensure necessary arrangements for their comfortable stay at Bangalore.

 

VIII-  MESSING

 

            All participating teams will bring their own mess with Cooks/Followers/Other class IV employees. Assistance may be sought to procure gas, firewood, provisions, vegetables, meat etc., from the Camp Commandant, at their own cost.

 

IX- TRANSPORT

 

            Transport for the officers and the team members to and fro from their place of stay to the venue of competition will be provided.

 

X- AIR/RAIL RESERVATIONS

 

            The participating teams are requested to make their return AIR/RAIL reservations from Bangalore well in advance. However assistance may be sought from the office of the Organizing Secretary located in the 2nd Floor, Office of the DG & IGP, Karnataka State, Bangalore-1 for obtaining confirmation of reservations. The nearest Airport is International Airport at Devanahalli, Bangalore located at a distance of 35  Kms  from Police Headquarters.

 

Bangalore City Railway Station is situated in the heart of Bangalore City. Apart from that there is also a Railway station at Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore City. The teams may kindly intimate their mode of journey, date and expected time of arrival at Bangalore to the undersigned by 1-12-2008 positively.

 

XI- SECURITY

 

            In order to ensure maximum security, all the officials and members of the teams will be required to carry their Identity Cards. The Managers of the participating teams should sent two recent passport size photographs in uniform of each participant/official along with the entry forms for the purpose of preparing Duty Meet Identity Cards.

 

XII- DISCIPLINE

 

            A very high standard of discipline is expected of all the men and Officers of the participating teams. The Team Managers will be personally responsible for the orderly behavior of their team members during the period of the Duty Meet.

 

XIII- UNIFORM

 

            All the members of the participating teams are requested to wear their prescribed working uniform during various competitions and also during the inaugural and valedictory ceremonies.

 

XIV- ELIGIBILITY CONDITION

 

            Every competitor participating in the championship must have completed a minimum of one-year service in Police in the rank of P.C or above, as on 2-12-08 and a certificate to that effect at the bottom of the entry form should be appended duly signed by an officer not below the rank of IGP. The Entry Forms should not contain more names than the maximum laid  down in the All India Police Sports  Control Board, New Delhi.

 

 

XV- ENTRY FORM AND NOMINAL ROLL

 

Specimen of entry forms and nominal roll of each competition are enclosed. Two copies of the entry forms along with nominal rolls duly filled may please be sent to the Organising Secretary, AIPDM-2008 to reach on or before 2-12-08 to the address given @ para XXIII. A copy of it may also be sent to the Secretary, Central coordinating committee, AIPDM, IB, New Delhi.

All the participating teams are requested to ensure that the entry forms are filled up and sent so as to reach on or before 2-12-08. The participating teams are also requested to take note of the revised rules governing the rates and payments of entry fee for the Duty Meet. As per the latest instructions issued by the Central Co-ordinating Committee, New Delhi, the entry fee has to be deposited at the rate of Rs.25/- per participant including Reserve, Manager and Coaches. This fee has to be sent in lump sum to the Organising Secretary, 52nd AIPDM 2008 along with the entry forms. It is requested that this amount may be remitted through Bank Draft in favour of Dr.R.P.Sharma I.P.S, Organising Secretary, 52nd All India Police Duty Meet-2008 & Inspector General of Police (G&HR) Bangalore payable at Corporation Bank, Nrupatunga Road Branch, Bangalore-01.

 

 

 

XVI- OPENING CEREMONY

 

            The opening ceremony will be held on 3-1-2009 A.N at 2-30 PM at the Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore

 

            All teams should bring their respective State Police/Central Police Organisations/Union Territories flags of the following specification:-

 

a) Flag for Hoisting         6` x 4`  

b) Flag for March past    3` x 2`

 

XVII- CLOSING CEREMONY

 

The closing ceremony will be held on 10-1-2009 A.N. at the Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.

 

XVIII- SYLLABUS FOR THE EVENTS

 

            The new syllabus circulated by the Central Co-ordinating Committee, All India Police Duty Meet vide their ref. No.2/Police (Sports) 2008(2)-1018 dated 14.5.2008 is enclosed to this circular.

 

 

 

XIX- TROPHIES

 

            All the trophies won at the last duty meet may be arranged to be delivered to the Secretary, Central Co-ordinating Committee, New Delhi well in time.

 

XX- WELFARE SEMINAR

 

            A Police welfare seminar will be held during the 52nd All India Police Duty Meet-2008.

 

            There would be no competition in the welfare exhibition but the Karnataka Police will put  up a stall exhibiting its own items. Other states may also send a few representative samples for display.

 

            The detailed instructions regarding the conduct of every item of competition of this Duty Meet are available with the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi. Participating units are requested to collect them from New Delhi for their convenience.

 

 

XXI- LIFE SAVING MEDAL

 

            The Prime Minister’s Police Medal for Life Saving would be awarded to  the recipients on 10-1-2009 during the closing ceremony of the Duty Meet.

 

XXII- WEATHER IN BANGALORE

 

            Bangalore, the Capital of Karnataka, is situated at around 900 meters (3000 feet) above sea level. In the month of January Bangalore will have normal weather in the mornings and pleasant to slightly chilly in the evening requiring light warm clothing.
